Viewing RAW images in Windows Explorer
One of the quickest ways of getting your
RAW images from the memory card into a new folder is to select
them in Windows Explorer ( RIGHT Click on "My computer"
and then LEFT click on "Explore") and drag/ drop them
from the memory card location into a new file on your computer
hard drive.
If you want to be able to look at thumbnails
of RAW images you may be frustrated that they do not appear -
as Windows Explorer cannot read RAW files - unlike TIF and JPegs.
Recently Microsoft released a RAW image
viewer which solves the problem for Windows XP users. It is available
from here:
Windows Explorer defaults to icon view,
so to view the thumbnails once in Explorer, you will need to click
View > Thumbnails - and there they are. |
